This company York Street Properties is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Oh sure, they were really sweet and nice when they wanted me to rent a house but after that - PURE NIGHTMARE!!!
After I had the water turned on in my own name, the toilets overflowed with brown water, the shower water was never clean and my kids started to get sick - they wouldn't pay to have the work done. I spent $1300 to have it done myself. I liked the neighborhood and they told me I could buy the house after paying on time for 6 moths!
There was semi new carpet on the floors, but the odors and stains from the pad that was never replaced started to come through. Would they do anything about it - NO!
The dishwasher wasn't hooked-up and didn't work right after it was - Would they do anything about it - NO!
The City Inspector from Mesquite was called. He came over and gave a list of code violations that had to be fixed. York Street Properties said "we don't have to follow that list, these people are buying the house" So nothing of any significance was done.
After 6 months of paying on time, they kept giving me the run around about buying it. One person who answered the phone when I called said "we don't have anybody that knows how to do that" CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!
After 11 months of paying rent on time and with more problems starting with the house, I decided to move.
After I moved, I asked for my deposit back plus the $1300 I spent on the plumbing - 6 months later they still haven't given my money back
What can i do!!!
Post here and keep other from making the same mistake is all I can think of. Do you have any ideas? Help Please - I need the money!!!
