Precision Garage Door Services tried to scam me last month. I called them out to REPAIR my garage door on a saturday after reading there large ad in the yellow pages that said no extra charge for weekends or nights. They came out and immediately said that the equipment I was using was sub par and not efficient enough to do the job of lifting my garage door.
They informed me that I need two torsion springs and also there industrial strength rollers and drums. The total bill came to 737.89., I wrote the check like an idiot but called for estimates the next Monday and was horrified to find out that Precisions estimate was twice as much as the next highest quote that I received. I stopped payment on the check and called the owners of Precision and before I told them that I had stopped payment he was telling me that he wasnt about to refund my money.
I told him to come take back all his parts that I had stopped payment on the check and if he wants his money to take me to court. I did cut another check to them for $400.00. Which they have not cashed yet. I don't think there case will stand in Small Claims Court, due to the Consumer Protection Act about purchasing done at your house. I was not scammed but other people are going to be in the Memphis area.
