My home was damaged in an electrical fire. Dave Frees showed up with the firemen and gave me the hard sell at a time when my husband and I were trying to coordinate our children and dogs. One of the police officers on the scene tried to warn us not to talk to this guy but it was a horrible night and we weren't thinking clearly (a fact that Dave plays on). We ended up signing papers that allowed him to control the entire restoration process regardless of our desire later to use sub-contractors we had established relationships with and trusted.
Although there are many problems we can report, from shawdy work to poor attitudes and the theft of personal property, the biggest problem we have is with how this company tried to ripoff our insurance company and coerse us to do the same. They wanted us to claim damage that was unrelated to the fire, they did work that we knew was not necessary and when we objected they pushed us to "let the insurance company pay for it". Dave was particularly aggressive in encouraging us to pad the bill to the insurance company.
When our insurance adjuster arrived, he was aware of Radical Restorations reputation and gave us a long lecture about the dangers of insurance fraud and to be very careful what we authorized this company to do. When we tried to reign Dave in he became increasingly aggitated towards us. He is a CON ARTIST AND A RIP OFF.
One last thing, his project manager hit on me in a creepy way whenever my husband as much as turned his back. He smelled bad and creeped me out. Apparently he has gotten lucky with other women on the job sites. It was scary having him and his team in our house but we were bound to them by the contract we never should have signed.
Don't use radical restoration.
