In March damage was done to my basement by a backed up sewer. The insurance company suggested Professional Restoration to do emergency cleanup and repair in the basement. The estimator worked with me to get costs to something I could afford, with me doing enough of the work that the removal of the old tile (which was not covered by insurance) could be done and I could get all the repairs done in the basement. This set work back by about two months.
The company then fooled around for another 2 1/2 months before telling me they would not do the work because my garage smelled (this I have been trying to remedy since a year ago, at least). The problem is that they charged an amount approximately equal to the amount quoted if the repairs were done.
They have charged for boxes at $5.50, though I had said if they were to be charged for I would get the ones I had been getting for $. 99, plus they charged for twice the amount of boxes used. They charged 2 extra hours labor (total overcharge of $158) for helping me move things in the basement. They charged $680 for fire restoration and $247.50 for water restoration when no restoration was done.
The charges all went to the insurance company, but I have now been left without enough money to repair the damages. The only thing this company did was arrange to have the tile removed and arrange for a storage container which was here for two months longer than necessary because of their timing.
