Unreliable with Non-existent Customer Service

My washing machine broke and I got the number for Harp from Whirpool, as they are an authorized repair company. I called several repair companies on a Thursday, but Harp said they could be at my house the following day, so I scheduled the appointment with them. The following morning (Friday) they called to say that the technician for my area had called in sick and had to reschedule for the following Tuesday. I was slightly annoyed, but Tuesday wasn't that far away.

That Tuesday, Harp was scheduled to come between 10am and 2pm. My husband was home all day and when I spoke to him at 1pm, Harp had still not shown up. At 3:15 that day, I received a call from Harp saying that the technician that was supposed to come to my house had to go home half way through his work day due to a personal emergency (could this be the same man that "called in sick" the previous Friday?).

When I questioned why they were calling me well after my scheduled appointment, the woman on the phone said that they didn't know that the tech left his job half way through his day (how this is possible, I'm not sure). The woman on the phone then tried to blame me, saying that they were expecting me to call in the morning to get a 2 hour time window of when the tech would arrive, and that would be their way of confirming my appointment. Not only did this seem highly contradictory to me (obviously, they had my appointment scheduled) but really ruffled my feathers because they said, when I first scheduled my appointment, that I COULD call that morning to get a 2 hour time window, but that was up to me. Since I knew my husband was working from home that day, I didn't find it necessary to call.

Anyway, they said that someone could come to my house on Friday (mind you, that would be 1 week after my original appointment). When I questioned why they couldn't send someone out earlier, given that appointments in my area had to be rescheduled twice in one week, she could not answer that question. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said that her manager would call me back, but - shockingly! - I never received a call.

I ended up going with another company - Cxxx Pxxxx in Hauppauge - and the actually showed up! Aside from the complete lack of professionalism that Harp displayed on all ends of the spectrum, I could have had someone at my house much sooner, had I originally gone with another company. Because I wasted my time waiting for Harp to actually show up, I spent well over $100 bringing my laundry to the Fluff & Fold (I don't have time to sit at the laundromat and do my laundry there).

Bottom line, trying to deal with Harp Appliance Repair will only cause you frustration and wasted time, and your appliance will still be broken.
