I just moved in to a new house that have had the same carpets for the last 20 years. Needless to say "They gotta go!" Like everyone else I saw the commercial for Empire and decided to give them a call since they were having that "special" Buy 1 Room Get Two Rooms Free. Yeah yeah... Well, of course there is a catch you still have to pay for the installation & padding. Ok, I still thought I would get a good deal because of the special... Even told the sales guy that I wouldn't need carpet installed in the closets...
Well, he starts punching in numbers and gave me a total of $1900 for JUST my main bedroom. With all the other rooms that i wanted to get done (which he claimed would be the free rooms) the total on everything ended up being just a few bucks short of $4000!!! Omg! I think my mouth dropped open just about then. The guy saw the look on my face and went into the spin about how Empire has the best this the best that etc etc etc...
Well, I put a $25 deposit just in case I couldn't find anything else in the price range because my rooms are "larger than normal houses" and I have until tomorrow to cancel this "contract". I just got a brand new roof installed, not coated, but ripped out the old one and installed a new one all for just under $2100 & Empire wants to charge me nearly $4K for carpets??? After reading these horror stories I think I will contact them post haste and cancel so i can get my money back!
