I contracted Palmetto Pools of Columbia to install an inground pool in May. I have yet to swim in pool this summer. I was told by the salesman at the time (I have been through two already-both fired) the pool would be dug as soon as a payment was reeived. I was informed that after the hole was dug, the pool would be completed within 6 days; that was almost two months ago.
I have spoken with several sales people, the office manager and the owner. Neither can explain why it has taken so long or why my pool today is not open. The owner continues to make excuses that do not concern me. My pool has had the concrete around it for three days, the boards are still connected, the cement is not level, and it has cracks and gravel all in it. Not to mention, I had to pay extra for the concrete installed. The pool has not been cleaned, it has concrete inside the pool, and the chemicals have yet to be added.in addition, they installed a PINK light, when we specifically asked for a white light. Presently, the light dangles from the side of the pool becuase it was not mounted properly. I spoke with one of the installers Saturday morning and he stated the pool would be completed today-they have yet to show up and it is late afternoon.
I have contacted a lawyer and will file suit if I do not receive what was in my contract and/or not completely satisfied. I still owe one more payment, but refuse to pay until I am satisfied.
My advice to anyone out there wanting to install a pool-inground or above ground-do some research, check references and do not use Palmetto Pools on Garners Ferry Rd in Columbia, SC. I deal with contractors everyday of my life but was fooled by this company. Please be mindful when entering into a contract with an inreputable company. If anything goes wrong with my pool in the future, I have a feeling I will have to go elsewhere-I do not think this company will be in business very long after this summer.
Once the pool is completed, I will update this report.
I will never refer anyone to this company.
