I ordered the Oreck Rinse-A-Matic last fall.
1) It took forever for them to ship it to me
2) When it arrived I put it together and couldn't get it to work
3) I took it in a week ago and they finally called me to say they didn't my fax with the receipt, even though I called them to see how things were going and was told they had ordered a new pump motor and it'd be done in a few days.
Now they say they haven't even ordered a new pump motor
4) It arrived with a faulty pump motor, but the service rep at their local store all but accused me of breaking it myself
5) When I talked to them on the phone, after it was established that they actually haven't ordered parts - they mentioned that they don't think it will be covered under warranty!!!
I thought I was buying a quality piece of equipment from a good company, but now I am getting nervous. Now that I am having problems with Oreck I did a Google search to see if the situation has happened to anyone else and how it worked out (good or bad). I have found many bad reports about them. I should have searched before I bought it! Arg!
Also, I logged into my Oreck account and they don't keep your transaction history past a few months. Now I am at their mercy - whether they will provide a copy of the receipt or not because I cannot find it in my email history.
I'm really scared that I wasted money on a piece of junk, it is cheaply made - looks cheap - feels cheap, my house carpets REALLY need cleaning but if I rent one I will be mad at wasting even *more* money.
If they refuse to fix the unit under warranty I am really going to be upset.: (I'm upset enough that I received it broken and spent too much money on it to begin with. I should have just went to Costco and bought something there. At least Costco stands by their sales.
