I ordered a piece of 2" faux wood blind from stardecorating.com. After couple of days I came across a different website selling same kind of blind for 10 bucks less than what I ordered. I went to stardecorating.com and found a link that says "if you find a lower price contact us and we will match it". I sent an e mail to customer service explaining the same. I got a reply from them a day later saying they can not match the price because mine was a promotional product. I was not convinced so I called customer service. Now the horror begins, below is the exact conversation I had with CSR rep Mr. Thedaus
Me: I received an e mail about price matching, that it can not be done.
Mr. Thedaus: Where did you find lower price
Me: blindschalet.com
Mr. Thedaus: (murmurs) Never heard of that, Oh its not the same blind
Me: It is same 2" faux wood blind
Mr. Thedaus: Oh but its from a different manufacturer..
Me: But..
Mr. Thedaus: We can't do it.
And he hangs up the phone!!! I called up again
Mr. Thedaus: What now??? (very rude tone)
Me: I already have an order with you that's why I called. If you can not match the price I want to cancel it.
Mr. Thedaus: What is the order number? (This tells me that initially he didn't know anything about my blinds, he just wanted to refuse a price match)
Me: xyz order number
Mr. Thedaus: Its too late to cancel it
Me: You dont want to price match and you dont want to cancel my order, plus you are very rude to customers
Mr. Thedaus: Next time don't order from us!!!
Me: Remove that price matching thing from your website because it's a joke.
Mr. Thedaus: ok
and he hangs up!!!
I never had any customer service guy talking in such insulting tone. Please avoid this company at all costs if you want to save humiliation by their CSR.
