Stevens Van Lines/Slidell Moving and Storage, used by the Military to move move Military families will smile to your face and destroy your belongings, take what they desire, and do everything possible to avoid any payment. They are known for being one of the worst Military Moving Companies for years. If your items go into storage, watch out. It's a free shopping event for them.
They will not return phone calls. Family business. They are hooked up with each other, a cousin does this, the Mother does that, the son something else.
They will do nothing for you, except hide.
We are advising any member of the Military that has been unjustly treated by this company to contact your local Senators and Congress People, as they are advocates of the Military in New Orleans and will assist you.
This company needs to lose all Military contracts. The Military moving office should not even be offering them as a possibility. The Military needs to stand as one and say NOT one member of our "family" is going to be treated this way by someone the Government is paying. Take them off your list. Get rid of them. Let them make their living some other way besides destroying Military families lives and belongings. They know no shame.
They destroyed our belongings, they took what they could, and the damaged both homes, the one we moved out of and the one we moved into. They will not return calls, they just ignore you. They have their money. But a reputation? Give them the one they deserve. They have earned it.
Do not use this company, don't fall for their line, in the end, they will put the SCREWS to you and do nothing about it. You will end up in court.
I speak from experience. I speak for the E-3 that had every thing stolen for his new baby. No crib, no car seat, everything taken from his wife's shower and gifts from her family and friends. They were new in boxes and prime target for this group. I speak for others that have had their entire shipment i (in storage) torn through and every piece of electronic equipment, down to a radio, stolen. I speak for a Military family that lost nearly everything they owned, they destroyed and stole every thing they could. I speak for the family that had $89,000 worth of property destroyed by fire. The Michigan home office offered them $3000.00. I speak for a family that had over $60,000 worth of damage and not so much as a call from these people. I ask you as members of the Military to step up and say, "NO." We know their history. No way will we allow them to handle our shipment. Write or call your Congressman. You don't have to take this.
To all members of the military, pass this around to everyone in your Command. Spread the word. Turn down this company if your inbound or outbound office mentions their very name. You will be doing yourself a huge favor in the long run.
They are rude, non responsive, only perk up when $ time to get paid.
A very sad, pathetic group of folks. BEWARE.
Group together, get them off the list for Military moves. Hurt them where they seem to only feel, in the pocket.
