I paid Overhead Door a premium, over the price from Home Depot, to have them install a garage door and opener this summer. It worked fine until this winter when the sun is lower in the sky. The sun was reflecting off the photo eye and triggering the safety device. I paid $60 to have another door repair Company come out to see what could be done. He realized in 10 seconds that the receiving unit was mounted on the North side of the door and in direct sunlight. He said any installer worth a crap knows to install the sending unit on the side with the greatest chance of sun, and keep the receiving unit in the shade. I wonder if Overhead door installers are that dumb, that dishonest that they hope for a service call, or do they just not care.
As a single Mother with three kids that is $60 in presents I now can't purchase.
Thanks for letting me vent.
