Lake Ridge Apartments is an apartment complex run by Triangle Real Estate Services Inc. It is one of the biggest rip off companies in existance! It is run by a bunch of rude, obnoxious, nasty people who don't give a healthy SHIT about it's tenants! DO NOT RENT FROM TRIANGLE REAL ESTATE SERVICES!!!
Here's what happened to my mother and I: We moved to Hilliard, Ohio (A suburb of Columbus) because she got a job promotion by U.S. Bank (another Rip Off business) So we moved here thinking Lake Ridge Apartments was a nice, quiet community with quality built apartments run by professional people. WRONG! BIG MISTAKE!
The apartments are made of the poorest, low-budget building materials—evidence of that is being able to hear your neighbor piss in the next apartment and being able hear their television—not to mention the crappy windows, everytime the wind blows you can see the curtains move! The "HVAC" (Heating, air and ventilation) is of the poorest quality. The furnace filters need to be cleaned way too often and there is black dust on our furniture and toilet, which is not normal. We blow our noses and it is black.
We cough up black phleghm. We will probably be eligible for Black Lung dissability by the time we get out of here from breathing this "black air". Not to mention this is THE noisiest damn place to live! Loud music, loud televisions, fights on the weekends and busted beer bottles down the stairway. ALSO, we were only out here a few months until our world came crashing in on us. My mother did not get the "high" pay raise she was promised and I can't find a job here in the FABULOUS capital of Ohio—Columbus! Every damn business wants 10 years of experience and a Doctorate degree (and that's just to work at Dairy Queen)
ANYWAY, we're EXTREMELY low on money, 2 close relatives died within a month of each other, my mother is going through an UNanticipated divorce, and I'm CONSTANTLY getting sick from air-bourne pollutants in the atmosphere in this city! So we NEED to move back home—does LAKE RIDGE care about any of this? Will they let us out of our lease? Will they take payments for the remainder of the lease? HELL NO!!! They WON'T let us out of our lease! They WON'T help us look for another tenant! (Even though Ohio Law says they have to), and they want an ASTRONOMICAL amount of money for a "Lease Buyout" option that is NOT stipulated in the lease!
In addition, they have many "hooks" to get you to rent one of their "prison cells" with Triangle Real Estate. Let me tell you about some of them as they so "proudly" display them on the back of their business cards and in their brochures:
"FREE" Athletic Club Membership Available: They do NOT tell you, until you've signed the lease, that there are restricted hours to the athletic club. You're only allowed to go there from 6 A.M. To 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. For the folks who work throughout the day when will they ever get to go? I was able to go twice but then couldn't because of the time "restrictions". They suggest if you want a full membership then you need to pay $200 extra! So the "free" membership is a LIE!
Pets Welcome: No they're not. Unless you want to pay $200 extra and and an additional $20 a month to the already outrageous rent that they increase ALL THE TIME.
Flexible Lease Terms: Two words... BULL SHIT! They will not budge on ANYTHING. It's all AS IS! No if's and's or but's. If your name is on that lease you're shit out of luck!
"Oversized" Floor plans: You should see the bathrooms in these places. I've flown on airplanes and ridden on buses that were more spacious than these fox holes! There's hardly any room for anything. Unless you're a minimalist you'll have to get used to a pretty cramped apartment.
24-Hour Maintenance: Their 24 hour maintenance is some middle-aged couple who have a screwdriver and a hammer and WON'T come out unless lives hang in the balance!
Fax Machine available: The damn thing NEVER works—I sent important papers out and the recipients NEVER got them! I missed out on great jobs because of this.
"Affordable Lease Rates": HA! Yeah right! You pay $600 a month for these worthless, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, low-budget, cheaply made, poor quality HELL HOLES!!! Don't think you can get away with paying the "great" rate of $600 for long because as soon as you get turned around they jack up the rent higher than most house payments! Just ask our neighbor who pays OVER $600 a month for a ONE-BEDROOM!!!
Professional and Courteous Staff: If I didn't know better, I'd think this rip-off joint was being run by a bunch of Nazi's! They're nice to you once you sign that lease then WATCH OUT 'cause they turn ugly FAST! Once they know you want to move out they BRIBE you with things like DVD players and crap. If you don't want it they treat you like garbage!
God help you in the Winter too. I'm writing this after the huge blizzard that hit the East. We got 18 inches of snow in Columbus and every other road and apartment complex has been cleaned out by road scraper trucks and salt trucks, but is Lake Ridge and the other Triangle Properties cleaned out? HELL NO! All of the residents here had to take the day off work or spend their holiday shoveling the parking lot when a road scraper should've been through cleaning this crap up! Triangle just won't pay to have it done!
I am on a mission to get the public informed of this rip-off company that is out for your MONEY and they will do anything to get it! They are heartless, careless, thoughtless jerks who don't give a damn about their tenants! They're always trying to find ways to screw us as hard as possible. DO NOT RENT FROM TRIANGLE PROPERTIES! Ever! I'd sooner live in a Kenmoore refrigerator box than subject myself to this INSANITY!
Stay away from triangle real estate!!!
This is the only place I've lived where you have to save up to be poor!
