Bedroom Superstore
Ripoff - cheated employees

I was approached by the Vice President of the Bedroom Superstore and offered a job as a driver. He told me that I would take a paycut from my $11.00/hr to $7.00/hr but I had the potential to become a Lead Driver and make good money.

I was told what a great company this was and I could make this my career. For my first 2 months I put everything I had into this company, time and money.

I did so well that I was given a Lead Drivers position after 2 months and started to make some good money. My wife and I got married, bought a brand new home, and got pregnant.

Needless to say 4 months into the pregnancy I was informed that the company was going out of business and I was being laid off. I was worried about losing the job, but I was more concerned with my health insurance.

The Vice President of the Bedroom Superstore told me that cobra wasn't going to be offered due to the fact the company was closing their doors. But due to my special sercomstances, and the fact no other insurance company would pick us up 4 months into a pregnancy, the insurance company would carry us on our own, but our premiums would go up.

I was given a total of what insurance would cost for the term of the pregnancy and wrote out the check to the Bedroom Superstore. I felt comfortable with the situation because I had met with a reprasentative of the insurance company and filled out a contract with them.

We found out 2 days after our daughter was born was not only that we had no health insurance, but that the health insurance company didn't even have us on file.

After finding out that we were not on file with the health insurance company, I called the bank and got a copy of the check that I wrote for $2000.00 dollars, that was cashed by the bedroom superstore for the insurance and took it to the hosbital.

The hosbitals finanil department did their own investigation into the matter and found out that the check was cashed by the bedroom superstore but the insurance premiums were never paid.

Needless to say I got stuck with the $30 sum thousand dollars worth of bill. I'm working 3 jobs to pay bills and I had to claim bankruptcy my self so I wouldn't loose my home.

In closing, I hope that after reading this people will understand that not only customers got screwed over, but also employees. Its been almost 2 years and I'm still trying to dig myself out of this black hole.
