Five H Ivestments, Better Homes And Design attempted to build new home but will cost over $60,000 to fix

I hired this company in 2006 to build my "dream home". This is the last quater of 2008 and my home does not meet national building code.

I was tricked into giving the company access to my construction account because my other home had sold and "if they could not get the draws on time I could be left without a home for a while."

This company paid themselves in full plus a "tip" that exceeded $10,000 above contracted price the 2nd of May.

In March they attempted to bill me for another $5,000 even though the house was never completed. I have had to hire an attorney in an attempt to recover funds to bring the house up to code.

This company is now telling other contractors that I did not pay them for my home when, as stated, they had complete control of my construction account and paid themselves more than contracted price. They are also telling people that they are suing me when they are infact the defendants in the lawsuit.

If anyone wants to check out this company please check with the better business bureau and attorney generals office. Also I would like to note the company did not even have a contractors license until many months later and after receiving at least one cease and desist order from the state. They have changed their name from Five H Investments to Better homes and design.

I would like to also let everyone know that they build modular homes. Having said this, could you imagine having an engineer come to inspect your brand new house that was 80% completed upon delivery, tell you that he found 44 line items wrong with the home and that the home was unsafe and could callapse under certain senarios.

I will attempt to update this report as I have time and inform you of the outcome of the lawsuit.
