We were referred by a friend to Vincent Daniels to do our privacy fence and Kennels. He came right away to do an estimate. The estimate came out to 2,600 dollars no including the concriete for the Kennel everything came out to $3,200 we gave him just enough to go get the materials for the fence which was a little more than half. He started that day. He said it would not take him long to do the fence and he would be done before we went on our trip to Arizona which was two weeks later (FEB 28) he didnt finish. Before Starting he said he had his license and has done this plenty of times.
Me and my fiance are first time home buyers and we did not know that we needed a permit for the fence and kennel. But he did not tell us he was just working without it. We then game him the rest of the money and money for the concriete for the kennel. So a neighbor comes and ask did the have a permit to do the fence. They said no so they stop. He told us so we went to apply for the permit, when we filed for the permit we found out the we could not do the kennel because it was to close to the poperty line so he didnt do it and we could not do a full six foot fence it had to drop down to 4 feet in the front of the house. So we got the permits and told him what he had to do. He kept telling us that he would come on certain days but never showed up. This continued for about 2 months and some change. He started in early Feb. And it is now June and its still not finished. So we called some one else out to get an estimate to repair and finish the total comes out to a little more then 4000 dollars. But while this contractor was there he notice that Vincent used the wrong post. He used the ones that goes around the garden and not for making fence, the post were supposed to be 32 inches in the ground they were only 10 inches. The panels were suppose to meet half way on each post instead they weren't even on the post the were nailed to the other panels. And he said he probally didnt pay to much for the panels because they were so thin. So overall he did not know what he was doing and he ripped us off. And we did take pictures and have a contract that he
