I ordered a hot water tank installation from Home Depot. They sent Fast Water Heater Co. to install it, and the installer charged an additional $516 in parts upon delivery and indicated they were required. I later learned that none of the additional work was required or necessary.
They also marked up the parts by 1000% to 2000%. A $9.95 piece of duct pipe was charged at $270, and $2.48 insulation was charged at $29.
