I and the family went to Mathis brother's furniture store to get a new kitchen table set. Well I and my wife decided on a nice black Lacquer set. After speaking with the sales person we told him we will take it, bad news it was out of stock. But the sales person said NO FEAR in two weeks 5/30/08 we will have 4 of that set in stock, and there is only one set sold as of now. I said okay can I pay for it now and come pick it up when it becomes available? He said sure No problem at all we will provide you with a courtesy phone call upon arrival. Well today being 5/30/08 no phone call so I wait to 5:30 pm CST time! I call the store get transferred 5 times and finally a nice Young lady asked for the invoice number. I give it to her she places me on hold roughly 2 or 3 minutes. She gets back on the line and says sir we have no record of that INVOICE. I said are you serious? She says yes, I said well we paid on a visa card they already got the money from transaction!
Well after couple of words she says ohh I found it but there is no record of the kitchen table set on Order that you paid for. I said what? I was told it would be here 5/30/08 the sales man showed me the Computer screen with the delivery date was. So now I am mad and
Wondering what is going on with my order! Then the lady proceeds to tell me she is a cashier and the Merchandise for incoming orders is closed to Monday so if I would like to call back from 9 am to 5 pm.
I asked her to speak to a supervisor. I told him I just received the Poorest Customer service known to man. I was lied to and now there is no record of my order on file or on the computer screen. So therefore was I ripped off for my Money? He said no let me find out what's going on Monday and ill get back with you. I said no! I was told I would receive a phone today on the status of my order and that never happened did it? He said unfortunately no what else can I do to help you out? I said well get the screen up to offer me a full refund and I will go else where. Then he said well there is a 20% restocking fee that we charge. I said NO I never received the Merchandise I paid for did I? He said NO I said well then a full refund will be the best way to handle it. Well Sir a 20% restocking fee will be charged. I said is the Merchandise in your warehouse? He said NO, I said ok how you can charge me this 20% fee if I never picked up anything. Apparently it never made it to your warehouse or my house. I want a refund. So after 15 minutes on the phone with a useless supervisor I gave up and said good bye I will see you in the morning when I come down for my full refund.
Worst furniture store I have ever been to. After walking in the door 5 sales men flocked to us and said have we decided yet on what we want? I said UM NO I just got here let me have time and room thank you. Now I do not have my kitchen set and chairs and I am being forced to pay 20$ restocking fee on something that never showed up. Well I am going to call the credit card company and see about a charge back.
