Misleading and Preasure Sales Tactics

In July I took a trip offered as a promotion for Westgate Resorts with my boyfriend and his children. We went to Westgate Historic Williamsburg. I knew I had to take their "tour" as a pre-requisit for the cheap rate and though, while on the trip I had received some very upsetting news, I went ahead and took their tour. The salesman was personable and very good at sales (of course sticking to the truth would have been nice, but then he wouldn't have made the sale) I was told that I was getting a "floating week" which meant that I could go anytime I'd like and would be able to go vurtually anywhere they had resorts and did not have to stick to just the one resort. I purchased even years and though I told him specifically I wanted the first week in July because that is when my boyfriend gets his vacation, he came back with week 47 but then told me that would put me in the best floating week in order to get the first week in July and be able to change anytime I wanted if the vacation days were changed... Made sense at the time. Since I bought this thing, it has been nothing but a "money pit" I didn't get to use it in because I could not get the reservations, even though I tried for 10 months... I ended up "banking" that week and yet I still had to fight tooth and nail to get the week in 2007! I basically had to "pitch a fit" in order to get it. Then our time was cut short, and I was assured that the remaining days could be "banked" and used at a later time. As soon as I got back from our trip I began trying to make reservations for the 2008 vacation... No luck, even though I tried every month until now (May). I had also joined Interval International at their suggestion, to make things even more flexible, plus sense I travel a lot I was told I could take advantage of their really low rates just about anywhere in the world. Well I even tried to use their wonderful cruise services... What a joke... I went on a cruise the last of April and their price was almost $200 more than the price I got from Vacations To Go and it was a day shorter! I am through with this nonsense!

I called them yesterday (not the first time I have voiced my displeasure) and told them I want out... They can have it back... I will sign it over to them for absolutely nothing... They don't owe me & I won't owe them and I was told no they could not do that, that if I didn't pay them they would foreclose and ruin my credit. I told them I am not asking for anything in return... Just drop it. No they can't do that... Because it is a "deeded property" I told them I would sign a deed. No dice. They would rather go through the expense of foreclosing than settle this like civilized people. Then of course, even though the payment does me no good while I am paying faithfully on time every month, the foreclosure will ruin my credit for the next 7 to 10 years... After I worked so hard to rid myselef of my ex-husband's bad debts and keep my credit in good standing. It really bums me out to maybe have to just quit paying it, but it also bums me out to be paying out that much money for nothing. So I am now in the process of finding out how bad it will hurt my credit if I just quit paying it or if I have any legal recourse. Either way I have to get rid of it, because it is just plain stupid to spend that much money on something that does not do what it was supposed to do. So far I have spent almost $8000 on this useless thing and still have 7 years to go.

Has anyone else who has had this problem had any success in getting out of this mess??? If so, Please! Tell me how to do it.
