Home Depot carries a Ryobi string trimmer, the BC30, which is made specifically for the store. Its full model number is RY30004D.
After only a little over one season of home use, the heat from the engine melted right through the fuel tank because of how the trimmer is designed. The trimmer no longer works.
Ryobi customer service refused to ship a replacement fuel tank to me directly. And even with a new tank, the tool would remain unsafe.
Every one of these trimmers should be recalled by Home Depot and Ryobi, with owners either refunded or given models that are safe.
