I came upon an infomercial about a garden tool by a guy name Billy Mays. He was very excited about this amazing tool and so was I when he showed all the things it could be used for and only cost 19.95.
I called the number on the screen and my order was taken by an machine. After about 15min or so of being offered other products, I stated no to all of them because I know my spending limit was around $19.95 (and shipping). I thought that it was unusual for me not to get a grand total before i hung up, but was given another number to call in a couple days. I was told that my order had to be processed before they could give me a total amount. No way did I imagine it would cost me 5 times more than what I ordered.
I was checking my bank account to see what checks went through a few days later and discovered that the Awesome Auger was billing my account for $108.60. After several tries of calling the # they gave me to call, (because they did not answer) I was placed on hold for over 30min. I was told that I could not cxl my order because it was already processed and I had to wait until I received it to call again and get a number to return the product. However my order cost only $34.90 (which included something else that I did not ask for, but get this, the P&H (postage & Handling) was $73.70. Returning the product would only cost more money. I don't understand how this company continue to rip people off and no one is doing anything to stop them.
