Services Worthless... My Yard Looks Worse Now Then Before They Started!

We had hired Felipe's Concrete to do some landscaping in our back yard around the time of 2/16/08. We had them do 2 concrete pads one that was 12x12 and one that was 14x14. On the 14x14 pad we had them install a gas fire pit, made from stucco and stone bricks of our choice. We also had them install our sprinkler system (which the sprinklers spray all over the place and FLOOD my backyard) and put brick curbing around where the grass was to be planted.

Apon completion we had paid them, they left and we had noticed that the fire pit was really crooked and too small for the fire ring that was in it. We immediately cancelled the check for the fire pit and had them come back and redo it. They gave us a terrible time about redoing it. We had called a couple of times to have someone show us how to use our sprinklers and no one ever did.

We had noticed that they had poored the left over concrete that they had all over our yard. We had them come and remove it... Which they did not remove all of it. We also had them come and seal the concrete... They did so but sealed over all the pencil marks that they had put in the concrete to draw out for the fire pit so those are now there for good.

We also had them put up a partial block wall and gate for our dog run, which we supplied the gate for and they bought the rest of that material. They have not finished the block wall... It still needs to be painted. They also used all of my bagged concrete in the backyard for this that they were not supposed to. We also had them put in a dripper system for the plants, which they did very poorly.

They dug a hole in the back for the pond, and they did that pretty good except for they had left a huge pile of dirt in the back. We had them come and spread that dirt around and they were supposed to spread it ad grade the back so there was proper drainage... But instead they just spread it into littler piles back there.

We noticed that the fire pit was cracking in early April... This is when they were putting the drip system in. We asked them to fix it. They told us that they were just going to paint over the cracks. I asked them to not paint my fire pit and just fixed the cracks. We came home that sfternoon and they had painted my whole fire pit.

They had also put a shut off valve on it that we asked them to put on for emergency reasons (which they did not do the first time). There was about a 14 inch wide layer in where they did the brick curbing for the grass. We asked them to remove it because we were ready to plant our grass... They said it is fine just leave it... After alot of begging they removed it. They cracked the bricks in the process and now they will not replace them.

We have noticed that the top of the fire pit is now cracking and we called to let them know that they need to fix it and they are not going to. They told me that they have cracking in thier stuff but they do not complain about it. There is left over concrete all over my yard... I was just trying to plant some plants in the back and went to dig a hole and hit all of thier concrete that they poored in the back and covered it up with dirt.

This has cost me around $4,000, and none of it is done right. I called them today to come and fix it and Felipe's wife answered and she told me to go ahead and take them to court because I am going to end up paying for it. I do not expect miracles but I do expect that when we agree on a job and a price that the job is done correctly, and if they are not capable of doing the job correctly, then they should say so and not agree to do the job, not doing it correctly and taking my money.
