I hired Mr. Cu to install a patio. Rebar reinforcement rods were laid on the ground and the concrete was poured on 4/1/08. A pattern was stamped into it. Within days many cracks appeared in the concrete. I asked Mr. Cu to take it out and do it over.
Mr. Cu came back 8/1/08 with a crew and removed the patio. He asked for more money to do the concrete pour again.
I requested that palomino color be added to the concrete and that the finished patio would have a green border. The concrete was poured on 8/4/08. I watched during the pour and saw that his crew was not putting adequate reinforcement rods into the concrete and not lifting the rods off the ground into the concrete. The ground also had not been sufficiently compacted before the pour.
After the concrete dried sufficiently, Mr. Cu began spreading powdered green paint over the whole patio instead of just the border area. I told him that the green paint was only for the border area but he insisted on spreading the green paint powder over the whole patio. He said he would wash it off later.
Mr. Cu spray washed it later but some green color remained which ruined the palomino color. His solution was to paint over it. It cost extra to have the palomino color added to the concrete so the color would be permanent with low maintenance and look good.
Now I have a painted patio which will require repainting every few years. It is already weathering and creating a blotchy appearance as the palomino and green color shows through. A year later I see cracks in the patio. His answer is to patch the cracks. The result is that I have an inferior product with a poor appearance.
Mr. Cu is not an expert in concrete work and does not do quality work. His advertising says Satisfaction guaranteed but he does not satisfy.
