On February 2 my husband and I purchased a living room and dinette set from American Freight. We paid for the purchase in full and we were told that it would take 2 weeks for the items to come in. We were given a date of February 16.
On February 17, I called and the sales person told me the items still were not in and they are scheduled in on the 21st. I called on the 21st and they stated, not yet, now we're looking at Feb. 26. And you guessed it! On the 26h, still no furniture. I called again and they said on the 28th the truck was coming and it would be delivered that day or the following day.
On February 28 we did get a call stating our furniture was in and they wanted to set up delivery. Unsure if they helped move the furniture into the home, I asked them to come on a day my husband was home - Tuesday March 4th. They said ok, we are scheduled for delivery.
Tuesday March 4th came and at 1 PM I called to double check on delivery. The sales person I spoke with put me on hold and said yes, our stuff was out for delivery. I said great! Well, by 9 PM, and no call and no furniture we realized we were not getting it that night.
The following day I called and asked the generic question "I would like to check the status of my order." The sales person said "Your items should have been delivered already. They didn't get to you?" I said: No they did not. And yes, they should've been delivered yesterday." He checked and said we would have the stuff my 10 PM that night.
I was now a little worried cause I had come here and read the reports that day. So at 7 pm I had my husband call and the sales person that time told him that our items weren't even in yet. They were still waiting on them! My husband told them, we were told they were in and even got a call and set up delivery. The sales person said "I don;t know who told you all that." He put him on hold for 20 minutes and then I called back and talked to the store manager, Jim. I asked him what was going on, told him we were told our stuff was in, scheduled delivery and now we ar told nothings in.
He asked me to hold, but never pushed the hold button, so I could hear his conversation with the other people. He asked what was going on and the one sales guy says "She already called once today, so why is she calling again!" I was shocked! Thinking to myself, umm because you have thousands of my dollars and my furniture and all I get are lies. Jim comes back and tells me the stuff isn't there and he needs to speak with Brent, his district manager. I told him we if didn;t have our items by weeks end we wanted a refund.
What these losers fail to realize is that for 2 days we sat home waiting for THEM. We were told to expect the furniture on March 4th, which is also rash night here, so we put our old living room and kitchen set out for the trash already! We have 55 people coming in from 3 different states for a baptisim at our home, and didn't want old furniture sitting around our yard! So we have no living room furniture or kitchen furniture to site on or eat at and we have a party to host in 2 days.
The people at this company obviously tell customers what ever the heck they want. Whatever comes to mind at the time and have no concern for or take responsibility for anything they say.
Today we plan on going down and demanding a full refund. I don't want anything else instead, I don't want to come to an agreement other than getting my money back! We'll have to do rent a center for this week to get through the party until we can go somewhere more reputable to purchase furniture.
