Oakwood HOmes promised us we would be in our new house within three months of ordering the house. We picked a house in January of last year. The house didn't get ordered until June, didn't get set up until August, and we are still not in our house. The house is incomplete inside, there are repairs that still need to be made. Kyle did a final walk through and told us we could move in, but we can not until the repairs are made.
The whole fireplace front needs to be replaced because there is a missing rock at the top, there are cracks in the walls that need fixing, The bar stools still have not come in, door stops need to be placed, the center island counter top in not what we had originally ordered, and there are no bottom shelves in the bottom cabinets. Kyle told us that we might or might not get bottom shelves, and that the center island was going to stay the way it is. We had told Kenny that we wanted the center island counter to match the counter by the sink, obviously he threw the paper away that he wrote it on because Kyle said that we had no such thing in the regular contract.
We also asked for a pull down attic, and now we are told that they can't give us that either because of the way the house is made. I don't appreciate people making promises they can't keep. I also asked Kyle for an itemized Statement, and he told me that it was none of my business what his bills were and that I wasn't getting anymore money back. He refused to give me an itemized statement.
I'm fed up with this mess. They also ran a promotion for military families to get a free washer and dryer with every new house purchase, and we were there that day to sign some papers about the contract. I asked about it, and they said we might get a washer and dryer, they didn't know. Please help fix this problem. I'd appreciate it.
