ServiceMaster - American Home Shield
American Home Shield AKA Service Master, Sears, GE. ServiceMaster AHS = NO Warranty—Nothing but run around, outright dishonest and lies. Carroll Iowa

We now call AHS every day and night as to the status of taking care of the seemingly non-existant "warranty" AHS is to provide on our washing machine. We reported our Maytag unit going out 3 months ago. AHS dispatched a repairman in about a week, transmission was out, they would replace the machine. AHS delivered a GE product, Serial TM171042G, Model WPRE6100G0WT 1 1/2 weeks later. Worked for 2 loads that evening installed, then quit. We called AHS. They sent a repairman after 2 weeks
or-, but he was not authorized to work on GE products. He could not even look at the machine.

We called AHS again, AHS to dispatch another repairman.in the mean time we called AHS to find out why they do not at the minimum pre-qualify their vendors and database they use and list their licenses or certifications so that the appropriate repairman could have been sent the first time. The second repairman was through Sears. They arrived after waiting another 1 1/2 weeks, found a faulty motor. Ordered the part. It came in after 2 weeks. We were to notify Sears to schedule, when the part came in, which we did, we were told it would be another 2 weeks before Sears could come out. We then called AHS as this was too long, this process was taking to long, Sears was not responding promptly.

We complained to both AHS and Sears, at this point. We asked that AHS/Sears dispatch someone promptly. Sears scheduled us in less than a week, but did not show up! We made a special provision to have someone at home the entire day, as Sears said they would have someone at our home between 8-5 PM. Sears did not show up or call. (Obviously AHS and Sears just satisfied us for the moment on the phone). We called AHS and Sears again.

This has now and continued to become the norm, we call AHS and Sears during the day and as soon as we get home from work, to check the status of our claim. Back to the saga... We did see a repairman back in a about a week. The new motor sent from AHS directly did not fix the GE machine. Another part was ordered from AHS. We received it in about another week and a half, notified AHS and Sears that it arrived. When we called we did request that someone show up immediately the next business day for the repair. They did not. We now ask to speak to only Supervisors with AHS when we call. AHS tells us that a Supervisor will call back as they are tied up.

They never call, they lie, are dishonest and do not represent their company well. We continue to call to find out not only when they are fixing the machine, but now why they are dishonest, no one calls back. We finally talk to a Supervisor at AHS after a few days of now routine calls a few times a day, at work on breaks, on the ride home on cell phones, and at night when home from work. We finally get someone, and in the mean time Sears does schedule us.

Again someone has to be home from 8-5 PM, that day for the Sears repairman. That day comes, Sears tries to fix the machine, and now tells us there is a bad wire harness in the machine. That repairman has stated that the costs of the parts so far will have exceeded a retail value of $600.00. Keep in mind that this machine has a retail value of 398.00-428.00 at stores in our area. We go thru the process of calling AHS to report Sears findings, We ask AHS for a Supervisor, we are told that AHS would call us back, AHS doesn't, we call back again late that night no AHS Supervisor is available or will take the call, mind you it is now after 10 PM. The following day, we call AHS, we are now told, mind you just now, that the washer is a GE replacement, We need to call GE.in the first place why was I not told this from the beginning, second, why did AHS send repairman 3 times, when it was not their problem!!! But GE's. I cannot speak well for ServiceMaster, and AHS. October, November, and December&going into January with no resolution on this washing machine.

This is a warranty? No way. I think they are in it for they premium only, and hang people out to dry. AHS did not coordinate this entire case well. We communicated through their third party vendors at their request. We will report our "case" to any one, including the attorney general's offices in Tennessee and Iowa. I wonder if Sears takes AHS customers seriously. It did no seem to be the case in our situation. We as an AHS customer were not a priority. Does not speak well for AHS's relationship with it's vendors. Would AHS pay for our cell bills to them, the trips to launder our clothes at the local washateria, the time spent taking off from work when no Sears rep shows up? Nope.
