Poor Customer Service and Damaged Product Nightmare for Hell, ripoff

On November 24, I purchased a leather sofa and loveseat, two end tables, one cocktail table, and a sofa table from Ashley Furniture Home Store in Glendale, AZ. The products were finally delivered to my home five weeks later.

Upon delivery, I noticed that there was massive damage to all four pieces of the end table set that was delivered to my home. I proceeded to inform the delivery men that I wanted to refuse delivery of the table set because of the damage. I was told I had to except the delivery and wait for a technician to come back to my residence to inspect and repair the table set. I was totally adamant about returning the tables, but was told I had to keep them—first mistake.

Two weeks later the techinican arrives at my home and inspects and attempts to repair the damaged tables. Please keep in mind at this point that all of the tables are sold wood and all four tables were damaged (i. E, multiple wood chips, unfinished, and uneven table tops).

The technician only patches up one table with some type of plastic patch—totally unacceptable and very unsightly. It is my opinion that the technician should not have attempted to patch the table up but replace all four of them.

If you can only imagine. At this point, I'm extremely livid because for one, these tables are supposed to be new and in top condition when they're delivered. And two, they should be patched up. And ufortunately for me, this is not the case—second mistake!

I contacted the so called "customer service" department once again to report my unhappiness with the repair and with the quality of their products. And guess what I'm told at this point. "Ma'am, your going to have to wait another two weeks before we can send another technician to your house to inspect the repair."

So of course at this point, all I want them to do is pick up their damaged property and credit my account. Unfortunately, I was told I had to pay a 30% restocking fee in order for Ashley to do that. I was livid once again.

I should not have to pay for damaged property that was delivered to my home. I felt and still feel like Ashley Furniture is attempting to shaft me. Their customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. And they make no attempt to take full responsiblity for delivering damaged property to their customers.

I've been given the run around by Rick Carlson the store manager and by Kelli, Cristie, Stephanie and Anna Marie all corporate managers in their customer service department. No one is really trying to rectify the problem.

It is my understanding that what their doing to me is against the law. And I want to file a class action suit against them to keep this from happening to someone else. They should never deliver damaged property to anyone and expect them to either keep it or pay a 30% restocking fee to have the property returned.
