The repairman came to my mother's house to check a dryer which my mother claimed was not heating up. According to my mother, the repairman came to the house, spent less than five minuntes, took some lint out of the machine, and then proceeded to charge her $145.00. When my wife called the repairman to inquire as to what had transpired, the repairmen told her the $145.00 was the standard charge for two repairmen at the house with no other repairs. He claimed he did not charge for repairs that were not needed, intimating that some other repair companies follow this practice. He that called my mother and indicated he had fogotten to give her the senor citizen discount, and later in the day left a check for $15.00 in her mailbox.
I feel the repairmen took advantage of an 86 year old woman who was alone in the house. She felt she had no alternative but to pay him the amount he requested. Contacted several other companys and the highest amount to take out the lint was $75.00
