My wife and I rented a 2 bedroom apartment from Century 21 North
Valley in Phoenix Arizona. Upon our move in inspection it was
discoverd that:
1. The refrigerator did not work. The Century 21 agent whose name is Tammy said they would have it replaced before the move-in date which was a week away.
2. Also at the same move-in inspection it was discoverd the
dishwasher did not work. It too was to be replaced before mone-in.
3. It was also discovered that the electric trash compactor was
jammed shut and full of old rotten trash. It to would be repaired before move-in.
Well Move-in day arrived and we pulled up the U-Haul packed with
all we owned. We went inside and found that none of the problems
had been fixed. We immediatley called Tammy. She said it would all be taken care of on Monday. O. K Not happy but lets get moved in.
Three months later we were still living out of an ice chest, had no dishwasher and the stink drove us out of the home every time it rained.
We finaly filed a small claims lawsuit aginst Century 21. They
promptly settled. Our agreement was that we would move out not pay the last months rent and they would return our $700.00 in deposits.
They were not to deduct from our deposits any items which had been listed in the lawsuit as needing repair. This list had grown quite exstensive after the first month of living there.
Century 21 would not allow us to be present for the final walk
through inspection. Of course 5 weeks later when we did recieve our deposit check it was for $300.00. Nearly every item in the lawsuit had been deducted for.
I can only say this Century 21 North Valley is the most unethical, unscrupulous company I have ever dealt with. They flat out lie cheat and steal!!
