We (my husband and I) signed a lease option to buy contract with KACW Investments/Helen Pearce in August. We put $9,000.00 down and paid $1,150.00 per month until February when out of curiosity-I checked the property appraiser online to see how much taxes on the property are. To my surprise and dismay I found that the property was involved in a bankruptcy and foreclosure proceeding.
We contacted a lawyer and were told to not pay any more money to KACW. We had already mailed our Feb. Payment, and it was too late in the day to place a stop payment at our bank. I pulled funds from my checking account so they would not be able to cash the check and steal even more money from us than they had already.
We tried to contact KACW or Helen Pearce (whoever they are) to no avail. We reported them to the BBB in Orlando and were told that several people had already reported them for doing the same thing.
My family has been under a great deal of stress trying to find a way to buy the house that we had come to love. Now it appears after much haggling and fighting—we are just going to be out the $15,000 that we put into this home, and be forced to move out. My husband and I are hard working individuals and do not have an extra $15,000.00 just sitting around to help us buy another home. Not to mention my kids have to change schools and relocate again. I'm very angry with KACW and Helen Pearce or whatever she's calling herself today. I know that one day they will get what's coming to them, but in the mean time I hope this letter can prevent anyone else from becoming a victim.
