This is the complete encounter I have had with Perkins Van Lines. On July 15 I contacted Perkins Van Lines and they were able to move me. I put down a $50.00 to hold the date of my move. I was to be moved on July 31st at 9:00 am. Perkins Van Lines did not show up until 3:30 on the 31st of July.
At that time I called to talk to Ray Visca who is the owner and his full name is Mr Raimondas Viskontas. I did not talk to him on July 31st. I called everyday thereafter and did not get a return phone call from him until August 3rd. On the third he agreed to take off $100.00 because of the late arrival.
When I asked when my furniture would be in he said he would not know until August 8th. I reminded him that when I reserved with him in July he said my furniture would be there between the 10th and the 14th of August. I also asked would that still be the case because I had already bought my plane tickets and my father's plan ticket he said probably so but he would not know for sure until the 8th of August.
I called Ray on the 8th and the 9th he did not return m phone call. He called me on the 10th while I was on the plane on my way to Reno. He left a message on my cell phone saying my furniture would get there on the 20th or the 21st. Of course I called him again to let him know this is unacceptable.
I called the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th and I did not receive a return phone call. On the 16th, I sent him a letter by email and Shawn, one of the guys who work there said he printed it out and put it on his desk.
I called him everyday since then as well. He has not return my phone call. On the 20th, something told me to call my voice mail at my old job and low and behold Ray had left a message on my work number in DC saying the truck had broke down in Las Vegas and he did not know when I was going to get my furniture. He knew to call me on my work number because he knew he would not have to talk to me. He is such a coward. Anyway, this has been my encounter with them. I have yet to hear from him or know when my furniture is coming.
