My mother was having problems with sewage backing up into the toilet and shower downstairs. She couldn't even take a bath upstairs without the black muck bubbling out of the shower.
Out of desperation she called someone she knew at her church and was referred to Naperville Courtesy Plumbing. Maybe the other person had a better experience or didn't know any better. The service was fast, maybe a little too fast.
My mother had her toilet rodded out because the maple tree in the front yard has thick roots that are about 1 1/2" thick. All the pipes from the sidewalk to the house needed to be replaced with the new PVC pipes. The plumbing is fine.
After hearing my mother say she paid $6000 dollars, I was stunned. All the old clay pipes were left behind.
The plumbers left a huge mound of dirt in the front yard and instructed her to find a pipe and push it through the dirt and fill the pipe with water. The dirt will go back in there on it's own eventually was what my mother was told.
They said if the dirt was leveled off now, that the dirt will settle over in a year and leave a huge indentation in the ground. You would think that they would at least level the ground.
What they said just doesn't seem right. Other people in the neighborhood had similiar jobs done by different plumbers and it rarely looked that bad the dirt was at least level.
