Paint Rebate

I bought nearly $900 of exterior Valspar paint: three one-gallon cans and three five-gallon buckets of paint under the "buy 3, get one free" promotion, which was poorly worded. The qualifying purchases in the offer state "116-128," which isn't defined. I now believe this refers to ounces. I expected a $300 rebate, but I only received around $100.

I now find that if the store had sold me 18 one-gallon cans of paint instead of the combination of three five-gallon cans, I would have qualified for the $300 rebate. So, I am being penalized for buying paint in five-gallon containers. Store personnel who were aware of the rebate suggested this mixture. Scam!
