The $900.00 estimate to replace my water heater held true right up until I was presented with the invoice.
It seems that the $40.00 expansion tank was not included in the price even though it is a required part... That they sold me for $323.12.
Also not included in the price was the $39.00 stand that raises the heater off the floor. But since it is also required, they charged me $226.15 for it.
It was disappointing to find that me $900.00 replacement actually cost $1500.00 because they "FORGOT" to include the required parts in the estimate or the work order. The overpriced parts only appeared in the final invoice.
I find it difficult to believe that a company can "FORGET" to disclose 40% of what they are actually going to charge when they know that the parts are required.
Moreover, the 600% markup on the undisclosed parts they force you to pay for is an obvious signal that they choose to deceive and cheat instead of providing honest business practices.
