I purchased a Pavilion laptop from Staples on June 10. HP told me that the year warranty expires Sept 16 according to their records. If date is incorrect to fax them proof of purchase plus my contact info. I faxed copy of receipt on Aug 9. On Aug 10th, I received email confirmation from HP that the relevant info received and will take 48 hrs to update warranty. I let time pass but eventually followed up on Sept 5th. HP hadn't updated warranty. The tech that I spoke with was going to refer matter to supervisor. I later received email that they escalated the request and would take 48 hrs to update. Two days later, still no update. On Sept 10th, I spoke with my third tech that said he showed they only received fax coversheet on Aug 9th not the 2nd page with the receipt. This admission was odd because in their Aug 10th email confirmation, they acknowledge receiving relevant info and updating warranty to purchase date. So how is it that they did not receive that page when their email states what I was requesting? Maybe they are mindreaders. My request and info was included on the same page as receipt. They lied to me about not receiving fax. That is disturbing their customer service reps resort to being dishonest. I refax the receipt twice with no coversheet, on Sept 11th and Sept 12th. I wanted to make sure they received the receipt. I received the same form email confirmation that was sent Aug 10th. So here we go again. I have little to no faith that they will update warranty due to the lies and run around I've encountered. I have set my mind not to purchase HP product again due to this experience.
