My experience with HP tech service is bad.
DV6 is the worst labtop I ever had, totally unhappy
Model Number: DV6 7013
I had owned 6-7 laptops, this is the first and only one that I can not fix by myself. I still have laptop bought 10 years ago working on a replaced harddrive.
Never expected a newly purchased laptop would freeze while browsing internet. I have been trying to live with it by pushing the bottom to turn it off and back on for about a week, but eventually it died, not able to reboot even with rescue mode.
I called HP customer service, was told to do the F11 way, but it did not work. I called again, had to hold for over 30 minutes, the service person does not seen to know much, he would not even be able to take my order for a rescue disk, he has to tell me how to order it on HP website. Very painful service experience.
After I got the rescue DVD, I tried to use it to reboot my laptop. At the phase of "factory image recovery preparations"—Reformatting the windows partition of the hard drive, it can not copy a file boot. Wim. At this point, I called HP tech service again, and I was told that this is not a hardware problem, it is a software problem, they can send a technician to fix the problem, with a charge of about $170, the warranty would not cover this cost. When I declined the service and asked to complain to HP company, the service tech told me she does not know the HP complain line number, because her company is just a service company, which works for HP.
I am not planning to fix this computer any more, instead, I will post around how bad HP computer and service are.
