We've had our HP Photosmart 6150 in our home office for several years and overall have been very happy with it. However, last night we had a paper jam, which my husband tried to clear. A small piece of the paper tore off and there's no way to access where the paper fragment is. I talked to the tech at our local HP authorized service center only to find out that they cannot service our printer. Now because it's out of warranty, we have to ship it to HP at our expense, pay for them to take it apart and remove the paper fragment, then pay for it to be returned to us. Plus we're without our printer for weeks. So we're stuck purchasing a new printer, because 1) we cannot be without our printer and 2) the cost of shipping & repair makes it not cost effective.

Why do manufacturers make products that cannot be serviced? Why do we have to go to the expense of a new printer all because of a paper jam?!?!? This totally sucks.
