I am writting this statment as an intent to have Brads Cars investigated for their unlawfull ways of going about repossesing vehicals. This all took place on the day before Thanksgiving me and my dad went to the store we arived back to the house for the first half an hour we went back outside and the car was gone. Immidetley i believedd the car had been stollen. I called the authorities only to recieve a call back 15 minutes later that brads cars had came and repossesed my 96 lexus es300. Being as responsible as i am for 24 years old (a struggeling mother of 2) called brads cars to inform them the car was gone.
Then called a second time to inform them that they needed to call me due to the repossesion. I was current on my october payment and about to make my november payment which was due on the 25th of the month. The next morning I contacted them and was told they didn't recieve my money for October. I had mailed out a money order on october 26th in the amount of 250. One of Brads Cars employees (younger kid) stated that they recieved the envelope with nothing in it. And to get my car back i had to pay 250 for october payment 300 for the towing and 250 for November payment. As a single mother before the holidays I didn't have that type of money lying around.
Immidetley i went to the post office and had a trace ran on the money order. I recieved the letter on 11/28 that states that Brads Cars had deposited the money order on October 31. Confussed and no where to turn I am writting to you. How can this company get away with a unlawfull repossesion.? And which makes the matter worse they are keeping my personal belongings i have in the car because their contract states any systems ect connected to the car when the car is repossesed will belong to the company.
How is this theirs if they excepted a payment. Not only have they caused financial stress towards me now. I am facing eviction of my home due to having to put a payment down on a different car so i can get to work i doubt i will be able to afford christmas for my children. Please help me with this matter. They deserve to be exposed to the public and I want some sort of justice. ]And to top it off the child that works there called the cops because I went there to obtain what was rightfully mine.
