Ntb stores = liars & rip off artists!!!
A word to the wise….. Never get any car repairs done at a Tire or oil change store. We have all heard the horror stories of Mieneke and Jiffy Lube. Let’s add more to the list…NTB.
I usually went to NTB for simple oil changes in the past but recently heard a strange noise coming from the underside of my car and I knew they did auto repair so I took a chance and had them look at it. I could have taken it to my normal repair shop that I trust, but sine I moved out of the area it was very inconvenient for me to go to them this time. So I had NTB look at it and insisted that it was my r-front axle and it must be replaced ASAP. They also mentioned that my back shocks were severely leaking and also needed replaced, and lately that my windshield wipers were so worn down that they were causing streaks on my windshield. I explained to them that I just had my wipers replaced and the streaks they saw was due to the OLD wipers. If they would have taken the time to LOOK at the wiper blades, they would have seen that, and secondly I did not have the money to replace my shocks and I only want the noise to be checked out and fixed. The quoted me $308.00 and just to make sure I was getting a fair price; I called one other place who said they would do it for $225.00. I called NTB back and after some discussion they agreed to match the price. After the repair was done, I drove the car home and the same noise was happening. I took the car back the next day and THIS time they told me it was my transmission that was causing the noise and it would need to be replaced. I then called my usual mechanic and explained the situation to him and he told me that the part they put on my car was the EXACT SAME PART he replaced for me 3 months earlier. So not only did they replace a brand new part on my car, but repeatedly tried t tell me that I had other issues that were imperative that I get fixed right away. At this point I was furious and gave those liars a piece of my mind and insisted I get a full refund, which I got. I then took my car to my usual mechanic and turns out my transmission was perfectly fine, and my shocks were in good condition. Never again will I patron any NTB store.
