Bought a 2000 Eclipse stating I wanted a reliable vehicle for work. Day one after 15mins the car shuts off at a red light and doesn't want to start back. Car taken back to dealer and it was kept for a day. Claimed it was water in the motor where the engine had been cleaned. Vehicle continues what it was doing, taken back yet again and it was actually a broken fuel line leaking fuel onto the motor.
Vehicle continues having trouble cranking however yet to leave me stranded. After only about a month or so of owning the car it refuses to crank when leaving a store. The dealer picked up the car claiming it cranked but it had a problem with the starter. They replaced the starter however now it makes an odd noise when cranking. After just a short time, all over again the vehicle will not crank, every few hours it will crank and then it wont crank when you try again. Dealer stated they are not going to do anything about this even though the car has done this for quite some time and has had trouble since it was purchased.
Supposedly this vehicle was inspected by a mechanic and many things were fixed before purchase however in reality there is no way that actually happened. The power steering belt it about to break, the vehicle will not crank, there are funny noises while driving down the road. The door locks were supposed to be repaired however the passenger door will not lock or unlock with the button or remote. Leaks were supposed to be repaired but you can still smell oil burning from the engine compartment. At around 60MPH the vehicle starts to shake and the rear suspension starts making loud noises as do the front wheels. As of today the vehicle is stuck at my Mothers home due to not cranking, the battery is not dead, the alternator is charging. All the lights are bright and everything is working but the radio but the car is silent when you attempt to crank it.
This car has to sit in the driveway because of fear of it laying me down somewhere. There have been many problems with the finance company and the vehicle itself. Beware of this dealer and of Westlake financial. Avoid this dealer unless you have your own mechanic inspect the vehicle!!
