My son went in to get an oil change. They fried his starter by improperly starting his diesel truck. Since then my son has removed the starter, district manager said it was probably factory equipment, but starter looks almost brand new. The company sent an adjuster who called & said Monro had no negligence in his starter going bad. There had been no issues in starting the vehicle prior to Monro getting it. It was under their care/custody/control & I can't help but think if my son would've pulled the vehicle in versus the mechanic, he wouldn't be replacing a starter that looked less than a yr. Old. The ONLY marks on it are from where they beat on it to see if it would start. Also, son had the old one tested. He got told that the solenoid was burnt. How does a solenoid get burnt out THAT quickly w/no PREVIOUS starting issues? Monro you dropped the ball & your services will not be recommended by me ever again. I will not utilize your services either. If you can do this to a 18 yr. Old, what's to say you haven't done it to others? Unsatisfied & tired of having to lay out money/time/effort because of others mistakes. This is from a customer that was also quoted one price for a job & got charged $100 more by a different mechanic.
