I took my son's Explorer to Just Brakes' Store # 11 in Garland TX because Just Brakes advertises they are the experts and only charge $99.
I ask for a full safety inspection (we just purchased this Explorer). Just Brakes told me we only needed to replace all 4 disk pads and turn the rotors, and we should use a better pad (Bendix) for a total of $214.63 to have the best relibity and safety. It is my only Son so I agreed. We received a 50,000 mile warranty.
6 months and 5,621 miles later the rear brakes failed. We returned to the same Just Brakes and were told the pads had worn out and damaged the rotors.
We needed new rear rotors and pads for $450. And that the early brake failure was not Just Brakes fault.
Even though Just Brakes performed a "complete" safety check 6 months earlier. Just Brakes refused to repair the rear brakes under the warranty and would only make the repair for $450.
We took the Explorer to the local Ford dealer to determine
if there was something else wrong causing the damage.
The Ford dealer did not find any other brake problems and replaced the rear rotors and pads for $434. The Explorer now has an additional 2000 miles with out any sign of rear pad ware.
Just Brakes Corporate office in Dallas refuses to make any restituion.
My only resolve is the Garland Small Claims Court.
