I bought a car from ugly duckling in garland texas in august. I went without my husband. I also happen not to know anything about cars except how to drive them.
That was my first mistake. I will never buy a car without my husband to check the car again. The car i bought was a 1996 buick regal with around 115,000 miles for over $9800.00.
The value of this car is around $5400.00. Carfax came up with 13 hits on this car. I do not have a credit card so i am unable to order the report.
Which i would do if they would take a check or money order. They will not. I asked the salesman if there were any major problems with the car. He said no.
My husband drove my car the first time three months later and said he can tell by the way it drives it has been in a wreck. The salesman also told me to leave off certain items, such as the van we are still paying on, so i can get approved.
Turns out i was not even qualified to buy this car based on my salary.
My husband is currently unemployed. They now want to reposs my car because we cannot keep up the almost $400.00 payment on this vehicle. I also found out that all four tires were bad when i bought the car.
I spoke to an attorney and he said the car was not worth the price i am paying on it and i was ripped off.
To be fair i feel the around $2000.00 i spent on this car should be enough and the title should be turned over to me. I do not and will not put any more money into this car just to have them take it back.
I wonder what poor unsuspecting soul will buy the car.
