Ingram Park Auto Center - Nissan - of LIES

As a nineteen year old female college student, I knew shopping for a new car would be a tedious task. However, I did not expect malicous lies and dishonesty paraded as ignorance. During my search for a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE, I spoke with many sales people from different companies about prices.ingram Park Auto Center (Nissan division) quoted me $14,500 out the door. That was the lowest price I could find. I called the dealership and spoke to sales consultant Roland De La Garza. I asked about the advertisement printed in the San Antonio Express News. It said 0 down 0 interest for 60 months and 0 payments untill April. I had Garza check with his sales manager to make sure all three options were available for the 2002 Sentra GXE. He verified this. On Sunday, January 5 I went to Ingram Park Auto Sentra and talked to Garza and his sales manager. It was at that time that I was quoted 14,500. I test the drove the car and dealt mainly with Garza. When it came time to make my purchase I chose to wait because the company would not throw in an extended warranty. After realizing that 14,500 was the best offer I was recieving I called Garza back. This was Tuesday, January 7. I spoke to him to make sure the price was still available and that I could still get 0 interest for 60 months. After playing a two hour phone tag game, Garza agreed I could get the car for 14,500 but only if I came in very soon. He said that if I did not qualify for the 0 percent interest I could have my father purchase the car in his name to get the low interest rate. I told Garza that It would be a couple of hours before I could get a ride to the dealership. Before I headed out to Ingram Park Auto Center I called Garza again to double check the deal. He agreed to 14,500 and 0 % based on qualification. I had him run a credit check over the phone. I was approved to buy the car but not approved for 0%. I told him that I would have to wait untill later in the evening to make my purchase so that my father could come with me to finance the car. That is when Garza told me that regardless of whether my father was there I could not receive the 0%interest because that special expired on January 3. I hung up with him and called to speak to the sales manager. It was the same one who help negociate the price of my car. He said the deal ended "January 2" That is when I informed him that there was an ad in the Express News for that day, January 7, offering the 0 percent for 60 months. He said he was unaware of that add and he couldn't give me the low rate because he was selling me the car for too cheap. I said that I was coming to pick up the car anyway. Even though the dealership was very upsetting I was saving 400 dollars. I wish I had gone elsewhere. When purchasing the car I realized that the passenger side air bag did not sit flush with the dash on one side. It is propped up about half an inch and moves when pressure is applyed. I specifically ASKED GARZA what was wrong with the airbag. He said there was nothing wrong, it was made that way to fly off quickly. It had been a long day. I took the car and left. When my father saw it he was outraged. Now I have to take time out of my day and be without a car to have it fixed (thank God it came with a warranty). I called Ingram Park Nissan and asked to speak to the General Manager on Tuesday January 14. I was transferred to someone who I believed to be the general manager. I explained the situation. He said he would talk to the sales rep. And call me back. After sitting by the phone for an hour and a half I called back and was transferred again to the general manager. Only this GM did not know what I was talking about. I had apparently been transfered to a sales manager, probaly the same one who helped sell me the car. I told my story to the real GM and his response was that I could drive down there (45 minutes) have the car looked at and if it needed to be fixed then he would fix. I told him I wanted a new car. I told him I did not have time for this. I told him the Sales consultant lied to me, and had he been honest I never would have bought the car. The GM refused to give me a new car. I told him I would flood the media with my story. He said "that's fine."
