Ugly Duckling
TX - Another crappy car... Another rip off

I have been ripped off by Ugly Duckling twice, my mother-in-law once, and my brother once, as well.

The only reason they can get away with selling these cars is because they know they can get people financed that can't get financed anywhere else.

It's always the last place we tell people to go, when all else fails. We bought our first car from them in 1998. On the way home, the Cavalier overheated when we got 10 miles down the road.

We turned around and took the car back to them. We picked it up a few days later and it did the same thing again.

After this happened a third time, we requested a different car. We had to go through the financing all over again - even though it was the same make and model and year car.
A week after this, they called us up there to fill out ALL the paperwork again because they LOST IT.

We had just had a car repossessed a week before going to Ugly Duckling, and they approved us anyway (with $900 down).

We finally got a car that ran, but my husband had to immediately change the brakes and the radiator had a hole in it - the car wouldn't even pass inspection.
We were in an accident a year later and the car was totalled. Since the accident wasn't our fault and the other peoples insurance covered the value of the car, Ugly Duckling let us pick out anything we wanted from the lot.

We chose a Dodge Caravan - pretty good shape. The same week we brought it home - the serpentine belt broke on it. I was furious, but there was nothing they could do.

We just filed a bankrupcy and will be losing our car again (our first brand new car from Central KIA) and we will probably have to go back to Ugly Duckling to get another car. It's sad that they can get away with treating poor people like they do, but no one else will accept bad credit like them.
