I am filing this report as a result of receiving no action from Ford Motor company/Rochester Ford. My husband and I purchased a new 2000 Ford Expedition and have since had terrible problems with rust on the door seams; this is a Ford design flaw! Ford knew about the problems with the seams in the doors and made the choice not to disclose it to their customers (Ford Customer Relations does not deny this fact!). How convenient for Ford that this problem does not occur until the vehicle is beyond 35,000 miles.
It was mentioned that warranty would cover corrosion within 5 years... Should we dump salt and water repeatedly on our vehicle in the next 5 months to meet this? We spent $30,000 with Ford and all we have asked for is for someone to stand behind their product... I do not mind spending money for general upkeep, however, this is inexcusable and in no way considered "upkeep".in fact, a short browse on the internet shows hundreds of displeased 1999 Ford Expedition owners. Again, we have requested assistance from both Ford and Rochester Ford and have been denied any assistance, Maybe we would rather spend the money slapping a class action lawsuit against Ford. This is so maddening. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
