I needed a long term car rental for a winter vacation in AZ. All the agencies were expensive. I chose Thrifty because they were the lowest price. AT their counter they informed me that there was a $10.95 charge for a second driver even though that driver was my wife. It was for 40 days so that added $440 plus making them the most expensive. They also told me that all agencies in Phoenix charged that so i did not look elsewhere. I later found out that this was not true.in addition, the SUV I rented had an expired registration which I did not notice until the last few days. Never before have I had to pay extra for my wife to be the second driver.
