Doesn't Cover The WARRANTY They Sell

I purchased a great Ford Excursion Diesel Certified PreOwned Vehicle from a dealership in Birmingham, AL. I have no problem with the dealer, I want to state that first. The dealership sold the Ford Motor Company Premium Warranty to me and my wife for an extra $2000 which covers the following:

Exterior

Service adjustments (glass and body parts); bright metal, bumpers, door handles, glass, moldings, ornamentation, paint, rust, sheet metal; sideview mirrors (glass, housing); water leaks, weatherstrip, wheel covers/ornaments; wind noise.
Interior

Buttons, carpet, dash pad, door and window handles, knobs; rearview mirror (glass, housing); trim, upholstery.

You can find the warranty description under www.fordwarrantycentral.com. Anyways, on with the story. We had some minor issues that the dealer covered without the deductible because our dealer was a nice guy and wasnt out to rip us off.

Later on, the Excursion developed a problem with the hub-bearings in the front on both sides. This is a problem with the 4x4 engaging and locking system. We went to a closer dealer and the mechanic there told us that he typed the part number of one of the hub-bearing combos into the computer for warranty. It came back as not covered.

The price was the deductilbe ($100) plus $600 for the part and service. He even agreed that it was not fair that Ford Motor Company was not covering an agreed, prestated part of the warranty coverage. After much calling (7 different people that we talked to taking over 3 hours during work) the lady on the other end of the phone stated she could not cover the part. The warranty agreement states all parts of the hub-bearing assembly are covered which was a great surprise to us, that the warranty Ford sells isnt worth the paper it is printed on.

After discussing breach of contract with the lady, her hands were tied. I tried to ask for her supervisor but she stated that I could not speak with them. I hang up and later she called back.

She stated that the dealer was going to cover that part free. So in other words, the warranty is left up to whether the dealer wants to help you out. I praise the dealership for covering the part and basically covering for Ford Motor Company. They are honest people. I am displeased with Ford Motor Company wasting 3 hours of my day, my wife's time who was stuck at the dealership with two hungry babies, and the mechanics time who was stuck in the middle of all of this.

If anymore problems come from this same hub-bearing assembly, and Ford Motor Company will not cover the parts that they previously stated they would, other legal actions will follow. If quality is Job 1, then how about living up to your contracts...
