I purchased a 2004 F350 Powerstroke December 31st. The dealer insisted 100% customer satisfaction. First of all, I encountered dirt and mud leaking up into my doors. Sounds like a seal problem? After the second trip back they installed some small car mudflaps and this should resolve it. Wrong. 1500 miles and exhaust fumes in the cab were unbearable. Loss of power, POOR fuel mileage, 12.5 mpg. Front bumper molding coming apart, Clunk noise under front end, Clunk noise from drive shaft-u joint area. Vehicle handled very poorly, and wondered all over the road.
Well, 12 more days in the shop, Fumes were due to a cracked pipe behind the turbo, thus causing fuel mileage loss and loss of power. Bumper molding replacement had to be ok'd by ford. Clunk noise was thought to be a spring, was not, don't know. U joint clunk is supposedly caused by freeplay, what a crock! Ball joints were replaced at 6000 miles with greasables to handle better. Still wanders all over. Know I have a slip in my transmission, they never resolved this problem either. 4 wheel drive has had a problem locking in and when it locks in there is such a terrible clunk in the front end it feels like it is going to come apart.
I have been back several times and have not had my problems resolved. I have never reieved any paperwork or documentation for any work done there, not even for an oil change. Would I recommend buying a Ford? ABSOULUTELY NOT!!! Never again
