Carlton Massey Ford Car Dealer
Ripoff

My husband and I purchased a 2003 Ford Windstar in August at Carlton Massey.

The Ford Windstar had about 7,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. It was not a prior rental or anything so the people that we were dealing with at Carlton Massey told us that our warranty would start as if the mileage were at 0, not 7,000 miles. So in essence we would have the 36,000 mile or 3 year bumper to bumper warranty plus an additional 7,000 miles on top of that.
I received a letter in the mail, July of stating that our warranty was up and we could pay to purchase an extended warranty. I immediately called the Ford company that was listed on this letter and they said, "their warranty began in 2003 on this vehicle as soon as it was in Carlton Massey's lot".

I contacted Carlton Massey and said that is not what we were told when we purchased the minivan, they said, "Hey we don't know what to tell you, the warranty is up next month."

My husband went to Carlton Massey and argued (which he should not have had to), with the manager that gave us bogus information when we purchased the Windstar and the manager said, "fine we will honor the 43,000 mile warranty, but only at this Ford dealer, (Carlton Massey).
We have moved to another state and I have 33,000 miles on my minivan, the electric slide doors stopped working, the locks do not work propery and I cannot take it to another Ford dealer as Carlton Massey said they were the only ones we could take it to.

We live over 600 miles away from Pocomoke, Maryland now and I can't get my van serviced for these problems.
Under no certain terms were we informed that the warranty would expire 2 years after we purchased the Windstar and the manager actually told us, if your van breaks down out of state, the ford dealers in whatever state you are in can call us if the van is over it's 36,000 miles and we will tell them that your mileage is extended to 43,000 miles".

Now they have changed their entire "story" after we purchased the van and are saying we have to drive over 600 miles to have the van service under the extended mileage warranty.

We have purchased 3 Ford vehichles in the past 10 years and sadly to say will never purchase another Ford vehichle if this matter is not resolved.
