Danny Simonson Work done to my Porsche without an estimate or written consent and is held hostage till it gets auctioned 3/30

On December 8th my 1980 Porsche 911S was towed to Simonson's Foreign Auto by my request to obtain a quote from Simonsons.

I called Mr. Danny Simonson to discuss a problem the car had. I had (3) issues I wanted him to look at: 1. Why the gear shift was stuck in reverse, 2. What he would charge me to replace the motors (which I provided him with) for the power windows, 3. And why the battery was not fully charging? Mr. Simonson said to bring it in and he would have a look.

I was hesitant to call or bring my car into Simonsons Foreign Auto Repair because it became known to me that Mr. Simonson over charged (scammed) me on prior work done on the Porsche.

I had to have the Porsche towed into Simonsons Auto on December 8th because the transmission was stuck in reverse and could not be driven. Danny Simonson asked me why I stopped bringing the car into his shop.

I told him that I was sick and tired of him doing the work first and delivering the price after. My first experience with Mr. Simonson was when I brought my car into him to check out a noise I heard in the engine, he took apart the entire engine, replaced parts, put it back together, then told me the cost of the repair was over 20 thousand dollars, without any prior estimate, discussion, or my authorization to commence work on my car. He then took it upon himself to replace all the parts in the transmission (which didnt need replacing, except for the 1st gear sometimes sticking) then charged me $8000 for the work he said I needed. I got no estimate and gave no authorization for the repairs.

After having said all that to him, I specifically asked him to provide me with a written estimate this time. I was very insistent that before any work was started that he would have to give me a written estimate and that I would have to agree to the cost and then give him the authorization to do the work, so as not to have a repeat performance of our last encounter.

Again, he pulled the same trick. He did the work and now I have to pay him. Danny Simonson and Company (company consists of himself, his mother and his son-in-law) have been part of this scam of repairing and or replacing parts and then delivering a demand of payment. They have now hired a company by the name of United American Lien & Recovery to auction off my car if I dont pay his bill which went from $3,300 to $8,152.71.

On January 18 I had a heart attack and was hospitalized for 5 days. After I was released from the hospital I was given strict instructions that I was not to work for the next two weeks but to just recover; doctors orders. When I was in the hospital on the monitors not able to move, walk, sit up or turn over Mr. Simonson called to find out when I would be giving him a deposit (the work was already done)! I told him I had a heart attack and his reply was so sorry, but when am I getting my money.

I realize I was a fooled by Danny Simonson once and then twice. The second time I felt I had no choice but to bring the car to him, as he was the one that replaced the transmission and I was having a problem with it. I never signed nor agreed to do any work to my car. Now I intend to fight back. I have paid him above and beyond normalcy and to have a lien put on my car is just not right.

I received a certified letter with return receipt that an auction is to take place on 03/30 at 10:00A. M at the premises known as United American Lien & Recovery situated at 3411 N.W. 9th Avenue, #707 in the City of Ft. Lauderdale, County of Broward, Florida to sell off my car. What can I do at this point?
